Building Automation Systems: Examples
A building automation system for hotels, for example, controls the light or the air conditioning according to the time of day, connects light sensors that, for example, accompany late returning guests with bright light to the room and then switch back to the darker and energy-saving night mode. It can also control individual room ventilation and heating of rooms based on presence detection or centrally – from the reception – to prepare the correct room temperature or have a welcome message appear on the TV before a guest enters. All of this without anyone having to go into the room first. A centrally secured access system can also increase comfort for guests.
Certain, permanently programmed “scenes” can be called up using a key command. For example, at sunset, sun blinds can be automatically retracted or light atmospheres can be created, the music can change to the evening mood (e.g. even an intelligent program at 11 p.m. can make the light continuously brighter for an hour and reduce the volume of the music to the same extent, so that the guests gradually leave the restaurant and the work ends at midnight).
Here too, a specific mood can be created at the touch of a button or the sound system can be set according to specifications. Depending on the occupancy of the club, the type of ventilation may also change. After the end of operations, you can switch to a cleaning light at the push of a button and turn off all electronic devices that are no longer needed. In addition, the sound system as well as the lighting system or projections can be optimized with appropriate presets to suit the current sound or theme evening or live performances.
